Good question....why would Jesus bother leaving the riches of heaven and perfect fellowship with the Father?
This is why...
1 John 3:5
5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
That is why Jesus came.....so that our sins might be forgiven.
